Magazine Adds!!!
Have you noticed the new tobacco ads!!!??? The Spit less and smokeless ones!!! Inst that special?
Is school a place where children and teenagers can learn and grow in a safe and secure environment?
School libraries should not be an outlet for the tobacco industry to target youth. If you look they are out there. Me: i was looking through a magazine and happened to come upon a add for snus smokeless and spit less tobacco product. so as you can tell i already about this stuff and i was disgusted so i looked further into the add. ok i was reading and they were trying to tell me (the add) that this product is date-friendly? would you go out on a date with someone knowing they are using a tobacco product. just think of the smell when your sitting talking to them..idk about you but that grosses me out. not me: so do what you can and make anyone possable aware of the adds being in school libraries. and its true they are there and they do affect children a lot more than you think. it is a higher percentage for children to use tabacco products due to advertisement rather than no advertisement. be aware!!!!

The dissolvable products -- a pellet (Camel Orbs), a twisted stick the size of a toothpick (Camel Sticks) and a film strip for the tongue (Camel Strips) The products purportedly melt in the mouth within three to 15 minutes. RJR said the Strips melt fastest, the toothpick-like Sticks dissolve in about 10 minutes, and the pellet-size Orbs last the longest. The nicotine delivery of the products is said to be high: whereas a cigarette smoker typically takes in about 1 milligram of nicotine, the Camel Dissolvables are said to deliver about 0.6 to 3.1 mg of nicotine each. Reynolds plans to test the new products in Indianapolis; Columbus, Ohio; and Portland, Ore in 2009. The orbs and sticks products will have their debut in January and the strips in the second quarter
